My name is Sarah Jackson, and I’m a textile artist with a passion for vintage and recycled fabrics: particularly those with a story to tell. It doesn’t have to be spectacular, or valuable, it might have been lost in a cupboard or tossed in the bin. But every scrap of material means something to somebody. You just have to listen to its yarn…
Winifred Taylor specialises in memory making – that is, transforming old, discarded or out-grown items into original works of textile art.
I founded Winifred Taylor Ltd because I wanted to celebrate my grandma, who first taught me to sew. I used items belonging to her to inspire me to create an embroidered biography. Above is a picture of her on the sand dunes near Blackpool in the 1920s.
I make other stitched items to exhibit and sell and I also run workshops; have a look at my other pages or just get in touch!
