  1. Folk Art talk in Harrogate

    January 13, 2018 by Sarah

Today has been most enjoyable: I delivered a talk on Folk Art to Harrogate Embroiderers’ Guild. A lovely group of people with some good questions that kept me on my toes! Below is a photo showing detail from one of my Russian folk art pieces.

  2. November Fairs

    November 10, 2017 by Sarah

This Sunday 12th November sees the return of the annual ‘Craft-y-Crawl’. From 12 noon to 4pm you can follow a map to visit various crafters/makers at different venues around the Bishopthorpe Rd/Southbank area. Location details can be found here: interactive map. I’ll be with 5 other makers in the Golden Ball pub on Cromwell Road. We’ll have a great range of art and craft for sale and you could treat yourself to a swift drink at the same time! Then on the weekend of 18th/19th November I’m in Pen 48 at ‘Crafts in the Pen‘ in Skipton. A huge array of different makers will be there from all over Yorkshire and Lancashire. Come and feast your eyes!

    August 16, 2015 by Sarah

This week several pieces of my work are in an exhibition at Gracious Street Methodist Church as part of Knaresborough’s visual arts festival, FEVA. On until the end of the day on Saturday 22nd August, you can see a range of work by members of the textile group Decora everyday from 10am to 4pm. One of my pieces from a collection inspired by Russian and Eastern European folk art, ‘Fruitful Offerings’, is shown below.

  5. Joint exhibition

    May 13, 2015 by Sarah

I have a joint exhibition ‘Folk Threads’ with Kate Fenton at The Golden Ball which opens on Saturday 23rd May and runs until 24th July. Come along and see what you think – view the exhibition in the Garden Room when the pub is open! A lot of my pieces have been inspired by Russian and Eastern European folk art; I also have a number of Japanese inspired pieces.
