  1. ‘Water’s Edge’ exhibition in Richmond, N. Yorks

    April 25, 2014 by Sarah

I’m part of the mixed media group ‘Diverse Threads’ and our exhibition entitled ‘Water’s Edge’ comes to The Station Gallery in Richmond from 21st June to 17th July 2014. Come and view it during the day or evening when The Station is open. I plan to exhibit a piece inspired by Edward Lear’s poem ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’ and also my re-worked piece entitled ‘Workaday blues’ inspired by Japanese boro work.Workaday blues

  2. Latest exhibition piece

    February 20, 2014 by Sarah

I’ve been working on a piece inspired by Japanese boro textiles. Using recycled fabrics and threads, I’ve rusted them first and then dyed them in indigo. I’ve then stitched into the marks and stains using a variety of threads.

This is part of the new exhibition by the Open Art Collective entitled ‘Continuum’ at the Golden Ball pub in York – the Preview is this evening.
