  1. Festive markets and fairs!

    November 27, 2014 by Sarah

Stuck for gift ideas? Don’t worry, there are lots of fairs taking place across York where you can buy some beautiful hand-crafted items! This Saturday 29th November I have a stall at the ‘Annual Christmas Market’ at the Golden Ball pub in York, 11am to 4pm – come along to see all the different wares on display from local makers. Then on Saturday 6th December it’s a ‘Handmade and Vintage Christmas Market’ inĀ The Basement at City Screen, again from 11am to 4pm. Pop along to my stall and say hello!

  2. ‘Organic Mechanic’ exhibition

    October 16, 2014 by Sarah

This Saturday sees the opening of the 1st Anniversary exhibition by the Open Art Collective entitled ‘Organic Mechanic’. Inspired by a suggestion put forward by someone in the community – ‘robots!’ – members of the collective have been beavering away on their latest pieces of art. Come along to the Golden Ball to see the exhibition in the Garden Room. I have one piece in the exhibition which is inspired by the work of the Russian avant-garde artists of the 1920s. I can’t believe that it is already one year ago that the collective was first formed!

  3. Exhibition in the local pub!

    October 22, 2013 by Sarah

Last Thursday there was a Preview of an exhibition by the Open Art Surgery collective. This is a group of local artists – of which I’m one – and we responded to the theme of ‘Your Place in Space’. The exhibition is in the Garden Room at the Golden Ball pub in Bishophill, York and runs for 6 weeks www.goldenballyork.co.uk

I have one piece in the exhibition entitled ‘Enclosure’ which is inspired by nests and hibernation. This was a new venture for me to try and create a 3D piece in a box frame using recycled fabric, paper and thread.
