  1. Latest exhibition, North York Moors

    Together with other members of Diverse Threads, I have some of my work on display at the ‘Inspired by...’ gallery in Danby until 24th September. We have interpreted the stunning setting via our ‘Threading through the Moors’ exhibition. I have a series of pieces based on animals – the one shown here is a Meadow Pipit.

  2. Exhibition at Pyramid Gallery, York

    I’m a member of York Artworkers’ Association and this year is the 25th Anniversary. To celebrate we have an exhibition of members’ work at Pyramid Gallery  on Stonegate. Up until 29th January, there’s a great range of work on display from glass artists, painters, ceramicists, jewellers etc. The photo below has details from one of my four pieces on display, inspired by ‘Little Boy Blue’.

  3. Folk Art talk in Harrogate

    Today has been most enjoyable: I delivered a talk on Folk Art to Harrogate Embroiderers’ Guild. A lovely group of people with some good questions that kept me on my toes! Below is a photo showing detail from one of my Russian folk art pieces.

  4. Exhibition at Helmsley Arts Centre

    Until Friday 2nd February, we in Diverse Threads have our ‘Regeneration’ exhibition at Helmsley Arts Centre. Check out their website as they are not open every day! I’ll be there stewarding on Sunday 28th January. The photo is of one of my 6 pieces on display in the exhibition.

  5. Christmas Fairs

    It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! I’m part of two fairs in December: Saturday 9th at Bar Convent on Blossom Street, 10-4pm. Then the Basement at City Screen on Sunday 17th, from 10.30-4.30pm. Do call by and say hello!

  6. November Fairs

    This Sunday 12th November sees the return of the annual ‘Craft-y-Crawl’. From 12 noon to 4pm you can follow a map to visit various crafters/makers at different venues around the Bishopthorpe Rd/Southbank area. Location details can be found here: interactive map. I’ll be with 5 other makers in the Golden Ball pub on Cromwell Road. We’ll have a great range of art and craft for sale and you could treat yourself to a swift drink at the same time! Then on the weekend of 18th/19th November I’m in Pen 48 at ‘Crafts in the Pen‘ in Skipton. A huge array of different makers will be there from all over Yorkshire and Lancashire. Come and feast your eyes!

  7. FEVA exhibition, Knaresborough

    Knaresborough’s visual arts festival, FEVA, is nearly here. This takes place from 11th to 20th August and I’m part of Decora’s exhibition in the Gracious Street Methodist Church. Open 10am to 4pm daily until Sat 19th August, come along and have a look at what’s been created. Our theme this year is ‘line and edge’ and I’ve created several new pieces inspired by nursery rhymes.DSC_4625


  8. River Art Market 2017

    Each Saturday until September 2nd the River Art Market is back in York along Dame Judy Dench Walk, from 10am to 6pm. A great setting to come and browse unique art and crafts by local artists. I’ll be there this Saturday 5th August, then again on 12th and 26th August. Hope to see you there!York River Art Market


  9. Bereavement Festival, York

    This week is the Before I Die festival in York. A range of different events and  activities to help people prepare for – and learn more about – death, dying and bereavement. I will have some of my keepsake/memory-making art pieces at the Information Hub at York Theatre Royal on 11th May (11am to 2pm) and also at Briar House, Club Chambers on Museum Street on 14th May (11am to 12.30pm). Come and have a chat about how to turn those precious items hidden away into pieces of art for your home.

  10. Pop Up Christmas Market

    This Sunday 11th December is the annual festive market in The Basement at City Screen, York. Always a great event, come along anytime between 10.30am to 4.30pm. And it’s free to get in!
