    January 13, 2018 by Sarah

Today has been most enjoyable: I delivered a talk on Folk Art to Harrogate Embroiderers’ Guild. A lovely group of people with some good questions that kept me on my toes! Below is a photo showing detail from one of my Russian folk art pieces.

  9. Primary school banners

    November 25, 2014 by Sarah

In September I posted a photo of a poppy print from the workshops I’ve run with each of the 16 classes in a County Durham primary school. Together we have made 5 fabric banners, each 2 metres tall to hang between the windows of their lovely Victorian school building. You can see a photo of ¬†part of one of the now completed banners below. The children were really proud of their work!

  10. ‘Organic Mechanic’ exhibition

    October 16, 2014 by Sarah

This Saturday sees the opening of the 1st Anniversary exhibition by the Open Art Collective entitled ‘Organic Mechanic’. Inspired by a suggestion put forward by someone in the community – ‘robots!’ – members of the collective have been beavering away on their latest pieces of art. Come along to the Golden Ball to see the exhibition in the Garden Room. I have one piece in the exhibition which is inspired by the work of the Russian avant-garde artists of the 1920s. I can’t believe that it is already one year ago that the collective was first formed!
